KYOCERA cutting tools: new products. The new molded GM chipbreaker for GBA grooving. The GM chipbreaker provides good chip evacuation and surface finish. Also, it is suitable for automation lines.

Molded multiple dots on the GM chipbreaker provide good chip control. This is a comparison of chipbreakers. The GM chipbreaker shows better chip evacuation than ground chipbreakers. Shown here is a chip-control comparison. The GM chipbreaker provides stable chip control at a wide range from low to high feed rates.

Surface-finish comparison: the GM chipbreaker has better surface quality than the ground one. Case studies also show the stable chip control of the GM chipbreaker. Use the GM chipbreaker to improve chip control.

Lineup expansion of KGD grooving. KGD cut-off tools for automatic lathes have been added to the KGD grooving lineup. A new molded chipbreaker for KGD cut-off tools is available from 1.3-millimeter width, which is the world’s thinnest. It can save workpiece material at the cutting-off operation.

The newly developed KGD toolholders firmly clamp the inserts due to a new slit design, which allows better distribution of clamping forces. Another advantage is the convex-curve design of the toolholder. The contact area between the insert and toolholder has been expanded to further secure the insert in the pocket.

Notice how the KGD holder withstands traversing at high feed rates at three times the depth of cut before the insert becomes displaced. Three new chipbreakers—PF for low feed, PQ for medium feed, and PG for sharp cutting—are now available. The PF chipbreaker provides stable chip evacuation.

Give KYOCERA’s KGD cut-off lineup a try and improve your productivity.
